Deaf Grassroots Movement  National Representative

About Us

The Deaf Grassroots Movement (DGM) team strongly believes in working with you to fight for our Deaf rights, including a better education, communication access, and jobs. Together, we will unite to achieve a new bill.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing community has been "asleep" and has accepted the status quo.

Oppression is a daily part of life and barriers exist. The struggles with communication discrimination, educational discrimination, and communication in employment - from those with or without a college degree and those who are stricken into poverty status due to this form of discrimination - are widespread. The struggle against  these kinds of discrimination is commonplace in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

We have faced and internalized this circumstance these barriers abound. That is why we have established DGM for all states throughout the nation. Our goals in relation to this situation are to support and become the watchdog. The "new watchdog" is the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and its backbone. To support any organization, Deaf agency or Deaf club in any state as it relates to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and how they provide support nationwide, whenever our educational access, employment access, linguistic access, or accessibility is affected. We experience this in our daily lives, and we want to speak out against it during our rally as we gather together and overcome these three issues that are paramount in our community. We seek to provide state support for each and every state. THAT is the purpose of DGM and who we are.

The Deaf grassroots movement applies to a diverse number of people within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
